Our Story

The Young Eye Foundation originated as a school project in 2019 by Darren Baine, initially named Advocacy for Schools (ADFOSCH). The initial objective was to supply educational materials and organize a community event in Luwero, Bombo. This initiative achieved significant success, setting the stage for our philanthropic endeavors.

In 2021, the foundation shifted its focus to early childhood care and education, embracing a comprehensive approach to children’s learning in line with our vision. Observing the positive outcomes and progress, we expanded our efforts to engage marginalized youth. In 2021, we collaborated with the youth in conflict with the law at the Naguru remand home in Uganda, providing resources and launching a skill-building program in hair and nail dressing in 2022.

As all these initiatives aligned, they merged under the banner of the Young Eye Initiative, becoming the cornerstone of the foundation’s mission to enhance the lives of Ugandan children.
