Early Childhood Care and Education

Youth Adopt School in their Community

Young Eye Foundation, an organization dedicated to improving the lived of children in Uganda through its work with schools in early childhood care and education, as well as marginalized youth in remand centers, visited Rainbow Nursery and Pre-Primary School recently.

The foundation painted the school located in Kungu, Buwate. It also donated various items to the school which has a population of about 35 pupils.

Darren Baine, the founder of the Young Eye Initiative, who is also a biology and bioinformatics student at University of Waterloo in Canada, spearheaded the drive. He was with his team members: Ashley Birungi the Vice-President and biochemistry student at Makerere University, Samantha Kremer, the International manager of marketing and science and business student at University of Waterloo, and René Baine technical advisor at the foundation.

They donated scholastic items including pens, pencils, learning charts, books and much more. They also painted the school and planted a tree. The children entertained the visitors with songs.

By continuing to make lasting impact, together, we can change lives and create a better future for children in Uganda.
